Change status
By clicking on “Available”, a dropdown list appears. You can change your status, it’s means how you will appear on your contact list. This will allow them to know if you are available or not. The invisible status means that you will appear to others as offline / not connected.
Chat’s options
To display the chat options, click on the menu icon in the top right (the three points). On the menu, you’ll find the option to add new buddy. (Fill in the name and email address of the new contact and click ok) You can also add a new folder, useful if you want to sort your contacts. For example, to make a “client”group, a “coworkers” group etc. (fill in the name of the group and click on ok)
You can also choose to hide offline contacts, and switch to “sidebar” mode. The mail will no longer be in “miniature” mode but developed on the right side of your email screen like this ->
